National Open wins to Shaffer, Speece, Kunsman and Schott

Twelve cars roared to the green flag in the Sr. Honda feature race in the Little Linda’s Speedway National Open. Anthony Speece led the field until lap 12 when Karter Kunsman made the winning pass of the race leader. Kunsman led the rest of the way to take the checkered flag in the season finale over Speece, Chase Schott, Aiden Lutz, and Michael Zehring.

 

Filling out the rest of the field were Daron Reppert, Jase Smith, Billy Buckshot, Brayden Natale, Brianna Snyder, Kayla Glass, and Cadin Smith.

 

Zehring and Schott won heat races.

 

Chase Schott bolted to the race lead of the 160 National Open from his fourth starting spot and held off pressure from Karter Kunsman for all 15 laps of the feature race. Schott crossed the line first for the win over Kunsman and Alyssa Holmes. Anthony Speece was fourth and Dylan Holmes rounded out the top five. Colton Williams, Adam Davis and Michael Zehring rounded out the field.

 

Zehring saw the checkered flag first in the heat race.

 

Dylan Holmes was the leader of the World Formula National Open after lap one before he got out of shape and Chase Schott took over the top spot. Schott held off Holmes the rest of the way to the checkered flag with Michael Zehring and Colton Williams following as well.

 

Williams took the heat race victory.

 

Daron Reppert showed the way for the first three laps of the Jr. Honda National Open before Anthony Speece took over the race lead. Once out front Speece maneuvered through lap traffic until the checkered flag fell. Speece’s victory was over Jase Smith, Reppert, Brayden Natale, and Brianna Snyder. Kayla Glass, Mason Glass, Tytan Deal and Cadin Smith rounded out the field.  

 

Jase Smith and Bryaden Natale were heat race winners.

 

Riley Shaffer is a Little Linda’s Speedway feature winner. Shaffer battled Mason Glass over the full distance of the National Open A-Main after a season long battle in the Novice Red Plate Rookie. Shaffer and Glass finished ahead of Tytan Deal and Andrew Davis.

 

Shaffer was also the heat race winner.
