Starrcade is Coming!

April 19, 2016

This week marks the first ever Starrcade event at Linda's Speedway. The stars from all the small car divisions will be on display at some point throughout the two-day extravaganza. This event gives fans the opportunity to spend Thursday and Friday at the same race track and see some of their favorite classes of racing.

Thursday April 21st will be Action Track take over night featuring the All Pro Championship Speedstrs, Wingless 600 Micro Sprints, Slingshots, and Chargers. Gates open at 5 with hot laps will starting at 6:45 on Thursday with Racing at 7:15. Adult admission to the grandstands will be $12 and kids 6-12 will be $5.

This will be fans first chance to see the new cars and stars joining the Speedstr ranks for 2016 and of course take in their returning favorites. Kyle Lick has two Speedstr wins at Linda’s Speedway while Tim Buckwalter is the most recent winner and defending winner of the Lebanon Valley Classic. This will be the first of five Action Track Take Over Events. The remaining dates will be June 24, July 22, September 2, and 23.

Friday night the ARDC Midgets make an anticipated return to the speedway and will be joined by the 270 Micro Sprints and Modifieds. Gates will open at five on both days. On Friday hot laps will be at their normal time of 7 with racing at 7:30. Adult admission to the event will be $8 with kids ages 6-12 paying $3.

Alex Bright and Brendon Bright have wins already in 2016 in ARDC Midget competition. Will victory lane be another Bright family affair or will there be a new name added to the win list? Danny Stratton won the “Groundbreaker” last year for the Midgets while Bruce Buckwalter was the July 4th winner. The Midgets have five events scheduled including the Starrcade race. The Midgets return May 6, July 1, August 19, and September 30 in the Night of Champions.

Visitors to this event are reminded that there is excess parking in the Jonestown Bible Church parking lot and carpooling is recommended if possible.
