Shearer Wins Modified 50; Perchak inches closer to history

Brent Shearer started from the second spot in the MGS Trailer Sales Modified 50. Shearer faded to sixth early in the race, but came back to take the top spot after battling Kenny Harris in a side by side duel. Shearer survived a few late race restarts to claim his first Linda’s Speedway Modified win. Shearer now has wins in a Modified, 270 and 125 Micro Sprint at the speedway.

Defending Modified 50 winner Sam Scicchitano finished in the second spot. Harris was third followed by Joe Toth and Riley Hummel in his first Linda’s Speedway Modified start.

Mike Thompson, Brent Shearer, and Kenny Harris took Modified heat race wins.

Dylan Hoch drove away from a tight battle between Brett Bieber and Tyler Ulsh in the early laps of the feature. Hoch continued to extend the lead on his way to the checkered flag. Bieber took second over a hard charging Tyler Hoch. Brett Spitler and Trevor Bixler rounded out the top five finishers.

Dylan Hoch and Brett Bieber won heat races for the Slingshots.

Ross Perchak started from the pole of the Mt Gretna Roller Rink 270 Micro Sprint feature. Everyone would expect him to stay there except for former National Open winner Pat Bealer. Bealer took the top spot until he made contact with an infield tire going through lap traffic on lap 16. Once back in the lead Perchak was there to stay. The win was Perchak — career win. Mike Boyer was second followed by Nunzi Allegrucci, Ben Stolz, and Brandon Heist.

Pat Bealer and Ross Perchak were 270 Micro Sprint heat race winners.

Mike Thompson showed the way in the Hoosier Tire / Hyper Racing wingless 600 Micro Sprint feature. With about ten laps to go Thompson’s car started to sound off. A header broke. Brandon Heist was second and on the leaders tail in the closing laps. Heist made one last bid in the final corner while third place Ryan Kunkle snuck into contention. In the end Thompson held on over Heist and Kunkle. Jesse Maurer and Keith McIntyre were the top five.

Randy Kunkle, Matt Warner, and Keith McIntyre took Hyper Racing 600 Micro Sprint heats.
