Heavy rain provided a race track that would give the Hoosier Tire/ Hyper Racing 600 Micro Sprints the perfect opportunity to showcase their ability. Mike Thompson and Tommy Kunsman would duel for the race lead for much of the event trading slide jobs and the race lead each corner. Kunsman would get the upper hand after a late race restart and hold on for the victory. Kunsman, Thompson, Richie Hartman, Matt Warner, and Christian Bruno were the top 5.
Mike Boyer’s hope is that the Mt Gretna Roller Rink 270 Micro Sprint championship will be his in 2020 as his celebrates his 25th year of racing. Boyer took a big step to make that a reality on Friday night when he took the win of the feature event holding off Tommy Kunsman. Brent Shearer, Scott Gingrich, and Ben Stolz completed the top ten.
Ed Hollenbach won the Charger feature over another veteran driver Sam Yeagley. Justin Riegel, Chris Smith, and Darrel Wagner were the top five finishers in Friday Chargers featured event.
After a race long battle Matt Warner was able to fend off all challengers in the MGS Trailer Sales Modified feature. Warner’s victory came over Joe Toth was by .275 seconds. Ty Hoke, Eric Hollenbach, and Ray Gradwell made up the top 5.
The 125 Micro Sprint feature saw Justin Harrington sneak past Matt Fernsler into the race lead and never looked back on his way to his second win of the season. Fernsler was second followed by Mike Glass, Brandon Shearer, and Austin Graby.
This coming Friday, Sept 11, the Modifieds will go 50 laps in the annual Modified 50 on First Responders night. The 270 and Wingless 600 Micro Sprints will join the Modifieds along with the Slingshots.
