Heist, Boyer, Carraghan, and Hostetter beat rain on Friday

A late rain shower hit the speedway causing a delay of the racing. All the events for the night were completed plus the annual Camera and Autograph session were completed.

It what quickly became an instant classic, the Hoosier Tire Hyper Racing wingless 600 Micro Sprints waged a three car battle for the in the feature event Friday. Joey Amantea led from the pole while Brandon Heist and Garyt Smith battled with the race leader. The top three were three wide and side by side before the leaders car slowed with a mechanical issue. Heist and Smith continued the race for the win all the way down to the last corner when the two raced side by side to the checkered flag. Heist edged Smith, Jeremy Harshman, Jeff Sechrist, and Logan Rumsey at the line.

Mike Boyer bolted to the race lead in Friday’s Mt Gretna Roller Rink 270 Micro Sprint feature. Point leader Pete Skias gave chase to the defending point champion but settled for second on this night. Brandon Heist was third followed by Dan Boyer and Ben Stolz.

Dave Carraghan hasn’t lost a race yet this season. Friday night looked like Brett Bieber’s night to end the streak. Bieber’s throttle cable was breaking at the end of the race and he gave up the lead in the closing laps to Carraghan on his way to continue his undefeated season. Bieber held on to second. Tyler Ulsh, Brett and Ronnie Spitler were the top five.

Justin Riegel led much of the Charger feature event before a leaking tire slowed his car enough that Troy Hostetter went by for the win at the end of the event. Hostetter, Riegel, and Sam Yeagley were joined in the top five by Dale Kreiser and Ed Hollenbach.
