When racing starts in 2020 Linda’s Speedway will hold its annual tribute night to honor a former racing personality. Although the date is not yet set, as the schedule comes into focus a Friday night will be placed aside on the schedule for a Leroy Felty tribute night.
Felty has had a celebrated career that spanned decades highlighted by track championships at Hilltop, Circle M, Port Royal, and Selinsgrove speedways.
Felty's driving style seemed by many to be flamboyant, identifying with drivers of the past who not only raced for the money but for fame and glory as well.
He was co-champion with fellow Lebanon County driver the late Toby Tobias in 1964 at Selinsgrove. In 1952, he competed in seven races at Zellers Grove and won all seven. He also won the late model stock car championship in 1963 at Williams Grove Speedway.
More notable accomplishments were winning the United Racing Club's championship in 1971 and 1973.
Other accolades were his induction into six halls of fame.
