Swift Wins Hoosier Tire RoC; Brenden Bright 600 Pole Winner

Alex Swift charged from 14th starting spot to make the race winning pass of Brandon Edgar in the closing laps of the Hoosier Tire Mid Atlantic Race of Champions of Friday night at Linda’s Speedway.

Edgar took the race lead early in the 20 lap event while Swift worked through the field. Swift used a restart to negotiate around Edgar. Tommy Kunsman, who was caught up in an early race wreck, worked his way back to take second away from Edgar before the checkered flag. Edgar finished in third.

Swift was representing the Spirit Auto Center Speedway in Bridgeport, New Jersey as their 2019 champion. The Linda’s Speedway wingless 600 Micro Sprint champion (Kusman) and Shellhammer’s Speedway title winner (Edgar) were followed across the line by Jesse Maurer and Jason Swavely.

The Wingless 600 Micro Sprints competed in heat race action sponsored in part by the Race Chasers Facebook page. Brenden Bight won his heat race after setting quick time and will bring the 30 car, $3000 to win, 40 Lap National Open to the green flag on Saturday night.

Bright was joined as a heat race winner by Damon Paul, Jacob Severn, Ryan Groff, and Matt Smith.

William Maurer (600 Micro Sprints) and the National Racing Network (270 Micro Sprints) presented fast time awards to Bright and Ross Perchak.

Saturday October 19th the gates will open at gates open at 3 with hot laps at 5:30. The 270 Micro Sprints will be first for hot laps and will hot lap in their heat race order. The 270 Micro Sprints will be the first division up for heat race action as well right after their hot laps are completed.

The night will end with the 270 and 600 Micro Sprint National Open races. Each race will pay $3000 to the winner and run over 40 laps. 2019 is the 30th running of the National Open at Linda’s Speedway.
