On Friday, September 6, 2019 Linda’s Speedway will offer free general admission to see the racing at the speedway in honor of former Linda’s Speedway promoter John Batz.

Batz passed away after a long battle with multiple sclerosis in late July and now the speedway will pay honor to him with one of the biggest events in the race tracks history.

“Family was always very important to my dad as well as getting new people to the race track,” said John’s son Michael Batz. “We are going to wave the $6 admission fee for his race so we can allow families to come to the race for a night out at no cost and we hope our community is enticed to give dirt track racing a chance with the free admission!”

The Johnny B Classic is a quickly growing event for both race fans and drivers and race teams alike.

Racing on September 6 will feature the 270 Micro Sprints, Wingless 600 Micro Sprints, Xcel 600 Modifieds, Chargers, and 125 Micro Sprints.

Grandstand gates open at 5:30 with racing starting at 7:30. A special National Anthem presentation will start the evening’s racing.

Multiple silent auction items and raffle baskets will be available including articles from Knoxville Nationals champion David Gravel and All Star Circuit of Champions sprint car driver Brock Zearfoss. A racing theme book basket as well as raffle donations from Moose’s Lz, and G-Force Transmissions are on a continually growing list for the night.
