Iron Cowboy set for 9/7; Time Trials across the board

This Friday, September 7, racing will feature the 270 Micro Sprints, Wingless 600 Micro Sprints, Modifieds, and the restricted 600 Micro Sprints.

The Hoosier Tire Wingless 600 Micro Sprints will be competing in the Iron Cowboy 30. This is a time trial event rescheduled from the August 31 rain out. Drivers will be given the chance to “Cowboy Up” at sign in to enter for a chance to win a bigger prize at the checkered flag. For an additional $10 drivers will race for $100 on top of the winners share of the payout. Tommy Kunsman will hope to extend his power hold on the Wingless 600 Micro Sprint title chase with another strong performance. Jason Swavely won the inaugural Iron Cowboy event.

The Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel 270 Micro Sprints return with the Time Trial series fueled by Roadrunner Race Fuels. Defending winner Tommy Kunsman will be looking to close up the 33 point gap between himself and time trial series point leader Ross Perchak during the event.

As not to be left out of the time trial theme of the night the Xcel 600 Modified will line up their heat races based on timed hot laps on Friday night. Heat races will be lined up from time with drivers going to the redraw as normal. Most recent Modified winner Rj Smith can start no better than sixth in the feature event.

The restricted 600 Micro Sprints will also make their third appearance to the speedway Friday night. The restricted class is a 600 Micro Sprint under the U6SA engine rules package with the use of a 3/4" restricted to limit the horsepower for the younger drivers.

Friday nights racing will start at 7:00 with gates opening at 5. Admission to the grandstands is $6 for adults and pit admission will be $25.
