Paul wins Summer Nationals; Pierson Midget Winner

Damon Paul bolted to the early race lead in the Hoosier Tire Wingless 600 Micro Sprint 41 lap weekend finale. Paul started from the pole after earning the spot on Friday night. Restarts were a key to Paul's success, holding off Tommy Kunsman on numerous restarts before driving away from the field on his way to the $1,000 pay day. It was Paul's first win at the speedway after competing previously in Slingshots and Speedstrs. Tommy Kunsman, Tyler Brehm, Aaron Bollinger, and Steve Whary completed the top five finishers after the checkered flag. Sixth through tenth went to Mike Thompson, Alex Bright, Christian Bruno, Kenny Harris, and Aidan Borden. BJ Antonio and Alex Bright took wins in the heat races. Ross Perchak kept his winning ways going in the Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel 270 Micro Sprint time trial series event fueled by Roadrunner Race Fuels. Perchak set quick time to start the night. His second place finish in the heat earned him the pole for the feature event and Perchak took full advantage of the spot leading each lap. Brandon Firestine closed in on the leading in the closing laps of the 25 laps race, but Perchak made a bold move through lap traffic with three to go to seal the win. Firestine finished second with Brandon Hawkins rounding out the podium finishers. Ben Stolz and Tommy Kunsman were the top five finishers. Austin Graby was sixth with Jeff Haefke, Mike Skias, Jesse Maurer, and Mike Boyer is tail. Brandon Firestine and Ben Stolz won heat races for the 270 Micro Sprints. Andrew Layser has come so close to claiming his first Linda's Speedway win in the USAC East Coast Midgets the last three trips to the speedway. Layser led until lap 25 of the 30 lap event when Adam Pierson passed Layser in turns one and two for the top spot with a sweeping pass on the outside of the track. Pierson led the rest of the way to grab his first Linda's Speedway win in dramatic fashion from his fifth starting spot. Alex Bright rebounded from an early race flat tire to finish second followed by Layser, Brett Arndt, and Brendon Bright. Shawn Jackson was sixth ahead of Kenny Miller, Ryan Wilson, Jason Rice, and Brett Conkling.
