Quick First Time Winner; Perchak King of the Wing; Smith and Hitzler also Winners

Scott Gingrich was the quick timer for the Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel 270 Micro Sprints Friday in their Time Trial Series race fueled by Roadrunner Race Fuels. When the nights feature event, the king of the wing, rolled onto the track Gingrich was sharing the front row with defending series champion Ross Perchak. Perchak made the first move and took the race lead out of the gate. Perchak was in chase of his third King of the Wing crown. A late race push from Tommy Kunsman, the series opening night winner, gave Perchak a challenge. It wasn’t enough to keep the 4 car out of victory lane as Perchak crossed under the checkered flag ahead of Kunsman, Gingrich, Ben Stolz, and Brandon Hawkins.

Morgan Rochelle was sixth followed by Mason Peters, Matt Fernsler, Brandon Krock, and Todd Bolton.

Gingrich and Mike Boyer took heat wins for the 270 Micro Sprints.

Austin Quick was running third as the leaders moved into heavier lap traffic on lap 12 of Friday night’s feature event for the Hoosier Tire Winged 600 Micro Sprints. Leader Tyler Brehm and Tommy Kunsman made contact and both cars came to a stop on the back stretch. Quick inherited the lead and withstood a restart with two laps to go to claim his first Linda’s Speedway win. Jim Radney and Garrett Bard rounded out the top three finishers. Jesse Mauere and Hayden Miller each charged from starting spots outside the top 15 to finish fourth and fifth.

Logan Spahr was sevenths trailed by Dan Souder, Mike Thompson, Brandon Heist, and Taylor Troxel.

Heat race wins went to Quick, Radney and Spahr. Eric Rutz won the consolation.

Kenny Harris led the first six laps in the Modified feature event Friday night that was plagued with caution flags. Those caution flags produced restarts that gave Richie Hitzler the chance to sneak the lead away. Once Hitzler grabbed the top spot on lap seven he never looked back. Hitzler led the rest of the way and held on for some restarts to start the season three for three in the Modifieds with victories. Harris was second. Ryan Stoner notched a career best third place finish with Brian Blankenbiller fourth. Ty Hoke also scored a top five finish, the best of his two seasons at Linda’s Speedway.

Jeromy Guistwite jumped back behind the wheel and finished sixth ahead of Cody Ledford, Mike McClaughlin, Sam Scicchitano, and Bruce Mills.

Hitzler, Harris, and Stoner were heat race winners.

Chris Smith took the race lead away from Don Stoudt in the Charger feature event Friday night. The pass happened on lap five. From that point forward two of Linda’s Speedway’s most storied 4 cyl drivers did battle for the remaining ten laps. Dale Kreiser pulled into second and worked on passing Smith for the remainder of the event. Kreiser pulled even with Smith coming to the checkered flag with Smith just edging out the multi-time Pro Stock champion at the line. It was Smith’s first win of 2018. Kreiser was second with Stoudt third. Chucky Kimmel and the returning Justin Riegel finished out the top five finishers.

Josh Demmy was sixth. John Snavely, John Manz, Chris Cunnane, and Josh Michael made up the top ten finishers.

Heat race wins went to Kreiser and Cunnane.
