Adams Auto Sales Hall of Fame Classic to Scott Gingrich
For only the second time this season the Titan Wings 270 Micro Sprint Time Trial Series fueled by Roadrunner Race Fuels seen the race track for a feature race without any rain.
Tommy Kusnman won the RockAuto.com dash to earn the front row starting spot for the 25 lap Adams Auto Sales Hall of Fame Classic on August 25th at Linda’s Speedway.
The dash helped unfold the nights story. While battling for the lead with Kunsman, the nights quick timer, Ross Perchak, made contact with an infield tire and lost control of his car eventually catching third place runner Devin Adams. Adams car flipped. Both drivers made repairs to start the feature but neither were able to finish.
With two of the top three time trials of the night out, Kunsman had the chance to flex his muscle in the midst of a very successful season with his 270 Micro Sprint.
Kunsman was quickly joined at the front of the feature field by Scott Gingrich. Gingrich has also shown consistent speed throughout the 2017 season.
Once Gingrich caught Kunsman the two began a multi-lap battle running side by side and trading the race lead. Gingrich was finally able to complete the pass of Kunsman on lap 14.
A lap 16 yellow flag brough the field back together and offered a few more laps on the battle between the two leaders before Gingrich pulled away for the win.
“This one wore me out tonight,” said Gingrich in victory lane. He continued, “I’m still really thankful any time I can get here (winners circle). You never know when your last win is going to come and I’m not getting any younger.”
Gingrich led Kunsman, former National Open winner Logan Diehl, current Linda’s Speedway point leader Mike Boyer, and Ken Miller across the line for the checkered flag.
Kyle Weiss, Dylan Adams, Brian Marriott, Zach Hollinger, and Morgan Rochelle were the top ten finishers from Friday’s Titan Wings Time Trial Series race fueled by Roadrunner Race Fuels.
Boyer and Diehl won heat races for the field.
Ross Perchak set quick time in time trials with a time of 12.523.
Ken Miller was the Amy’s Photos hard charger gaining six spots in the feature event while Perchak gets the hard luck award presented by Kim’s Kreations. Perchak was scheduled to start fifth, but lost his chain on the pace laps.
