Season Oepner March 31st Racing Canceled
Due to wet conditions and continued/predicted rain the 2017 season opener at Linda’s Speedway has been canceled. The drying process was hindered often throughout the week with rain storms. As in many cases the speedway surface isn’t the biggest problem, that lies in the parking and spectator areas.
The event was scheduled to be the debut of the new USAC eastern sanctioned ARDC Midget series. “It would have been a privilege to open the season with the first race after the merger of those two-historical series,” said Linda Batz. The first races for the Jersey Joe’s Boardwalk Café 270 Micro Sprints and Hoosier Tire Wingless 600 Micro Sprints were also lost with the cancelation.
Friday April 7th will be a full night of racing to kick off the 2017 season. Five divisions of racing featuring the 270 and Wingless 600 Micro Sprints, Alpine Building Supply 600 Modifieds, Slingshots, and Appalachian Auto LLC Chargers.
Gates will open at 5:30 with hot laps at 7 and racing at 7:30. Admission to the grandstands will be $6 for adults.
