LINDA'S SPEEDWAY 2008 PRO STOCK SPECIFICATIONS

ANY 1960 TO PRESENT FOUR CYLINDER COMPACT CAR SUCH AS PINTO, MUSTANG, VEGA, MONZA, STATIONWAGON, ETC. MINI PICK-UP TRUCKS SUCH AS RANGER, S-10, DATSUN, OK. NO FLATBEDS OR BEDS MADE OF WOOD, TAILGATE MUST BE WELDED SHUT. MUST ORIGINALLY BE FRONT ENGINE REAR WHEEL DRIVE. MAXIMUM WHEEL BASE OF 102" FOR

CARS- MAXIMUM WHEEL BASE FOR TRUCKS 118"

ENGINE SPEC.-Four cylinder piston type engine. No dual overhead cams. No aluminum blocks.
Block and head may be shaved. Flat top pistons only. Cylinder heads must be OEM for style
engine they were manufactured for. No aluminum heads unless original equipment from
manufacturer.
No roller cams, followers, rockers or lifters. Any solid or hydraulic cam ok. Any intake
manifolds. No spacers between intake and cylinder head.

WEIGHT - lib. per CC. 2650 cc limit with overbore.

CARBS: One maximum 500 CFM carb only. No fuel injection. Maximum 1" spacer between
carb and intake. Spacer can not be welded to intake. No turbos, No Preditor.

GASOLINE ONLY. NO ADDITIVES OF ANY KIND! NO NITROUS OXIDE INJECTION.

IGNITION: Any ignition OK.

RADIATORS: Any radiator may be used, must remain in front of engine, electric fans allowed, no oil cooler in drivers compartment.

EXHAUST: Any manifold or header may be used, must exit body, if run through drivers
compartment it must be shielded.

ENGINE SET BACK:- Max. 6" set back - With a safe firewall constructed.

TRANSMISSIONS: Stock transmission only. Gears may be removed. No Jerricos.

FLYWHEELS: Any steel type factory flywheel may be used. Cast flywheel not recommended.
No aluminum.

CLUTCH: Stock type clutch and pressure plate only, steel plate or shield above bell housing mandatory.

REAR ENDS:Stock rear ends only. Spider gears may be welded. Spools allowed. No quick change allowed. Drive shaft loop recommended. DRIVE SHAFT MUST BE PAINTED WHITE!

SUSPENSION: All suspension mounting points in front of rear end housing. MUST remain in stock location and be attached to original frame rails. Adjustable rear shackles allowed. Rear sliders allowed on leaf spring cars. Must use stock type springs (coil on coil cars - leafs on leaf spring cars). Any steel body shocks allowed. Coil overs permitted. One shock or spring per wheel. If tube type shock is used on front strut, dampening action must be disabled on strut. Front shock location is optional. Front and Rear sway bar must be in stock location. Stock type steering Steering quickeners are allowed. No center steering. No plastic steering wheel releases. Rear locator bars allowed.

TIRES&WHEELS: Any 13"-14"-15" tires allowed. Steel wheels maximum 8" wide with bead locks are allowed. No aluminum wheels. No snow tires. Grooving is allowed. Large wheel nuts recommended. No wheel adapters.

ROLL CAGE & BRACING: Roll cage must extend 4" above the driver's head. Roll cage must be 1 1/2" OD minimum tubing. Minimum .095 wall tubing thickness must be used. Roll cage must be securely welded to frame or plate welded to floorboards at rocker panel on 6" x 6" plate minimum. Sub frames may be tied together. Roll cage must extend from windshield to rear of driver's compartment with a loop at front and rear. A 1" pipe must be welded to roll cage in center of windshield opening. Four horizontal door bars minimum on driver's door - three horizontal door bars minimum on passenger door. Door bars must be tied together with a minimum of three evenly spaced bars. Door bars and bracing MUST BE a minimum of 1 1/2" .095 tubing!! Driver's area must have approved padding on roll cage and door bars. Racing seat is mandatory and must be SECURELY attached to roll cage. Must be high back seat or must have head rest. Seat belts must be securely attached to roll cage, if bolted minimum 3/8" bolt required. One bar may be used to protect radiator. It must be mounted between bumper and hood, not to protrude past bumper. 1 1/2" tubing max. No sharp edges on bumpers or rub rails at any time. Bars may extend to front and rear of car as long as they are kept inside and under hood of car. Bumpers may be re-enforced from behind. Bumpers must be stock width and height and be mounted in stock location. Front and rear bumpers must have a bar attached to the ends that goes back into the body or be attached to the frame. Can not protrude past outside edge of tires!! The ends of the side rub rails must be round on the ends and enter and exit the body. Side rails can not extend past outside edge of tires! (Make them right or you don't race. Rub rails must be 1 1/2" max diameter round tubing of a single bar design, mounted securely to chassis.

FUEL TANK: Fuel cells are mandatory. Fuel cells must be mounted in trunk area no further front than rear end housing and must have adequate clearance. Must have bar behind fuel cell for protection. A firewall must be installed between the fuel cell and driver's compartment. Must be made of sheet metal. Must have holes in floor for drainage. Fuel cell must be securely mounted. Filler neck can not exceed past fire wall and must have a lid over it. Steel or flex steel fuel line may be run inside car, but must be enclosed in solid rubber line from entrance to exit of inside compartment.Fuel line check valve is mandatory and easily accessible fuel shut off value mandatory.

BRAKES: Brakes must be OEM type parts. No plastic brake lines. After market pro portioning valves and pedal assembly may be used.

BATTERY: Battery must be securely mounted to car. Battery NOT permitted in drivers compartment.

BODY & INTERIOR: Stock steel or aluminum after market or fabricated body must be used. No fiberglass. Bodies may be interchanged. Maximum overall length of car bumper to bumper may not exceed 185" and minimum of 168". Minimum roof height of 46". Minimum hood height of 34". Bodies must resemble stock with a minimum side window opening of 17"high x 21" wide . All glass and all flammable material must be removed. Windshield area must be cover with heavy screen or Lexan. No mirrors or lights. Doors must be welded or bolted shut. Inner wheel wells may be cut out. All holes in driver's compartment must be filled with metal. No wings allowed. After market spoilers and /or hood scoops are allowed. Rear spoilers may not exceed 6" in width and hood scoop may not exceed 4" in height. All body panels must be on car. No built up interiors on passenger side. You must have complete stock front floorboards. No sunroofs allowed - must be filled in with sheet metal. Hood and trunk lid must be securely fastened and be in place at the start of the event. Must have complete front stock firewall. Do not use any sheet metal screws on any body panels or interior. Use nuts and bolts or rivets only. After market nose pieces allowed. All bracing must be done behind nose piece. Plastic skirting only may be used with a minimum ground clearance of 4" at all times. Plexiglas is only allowed on the side windows behind the driver. ALL cars must have visible tow loops or chains front and rear for easy tow truck hook-up. If you don't have them, YOU don't race!!


APPEARANCE & NUMBERS: Cars must be numbered and lettered in an acceptable manner. Numbers must be at least 18" high on both sides of car and on roof. Car must be painted. Special note: Car #69 has been retired at Linda's Speedway in memory of Tommy Garland. You will not be permitted to race with this number with or without a prefix.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT: Approved 3" safety belts and shoulder harness required. Belts must be in good condition. Shoulder belts must be supported at shoulder height by a bar on roll cage and be mounted below shoulder height. Snell 95 or newer helmet with approved face shield (recommended snell 2000) . Approved fire suit is required and you must wear racing gloves and neck collar at all times including warm-ups. Nomex underwear or two layer suit and head sock is highly recommended. Window nets or arm restraints are mandatory. All cars must be equipped with an approved fire extinguisher.

FUEL TESTING: Fuel testing may be done at the discretion of the technical director. Any fuel in question after initial test will be further analyzed by an outside lab and your pay off will be held until the fuel test results are final. If fuel is found to be legal, you will be paid at the next event. If fuel is found to be illegal, you will forfeit all money earned for that event and forfeit all accumulated points for the season. Also, if fuel is found to be illegal you will be required to pay for all costs incurred in fuel testing (approx. $200) before any driver may return to competition.
NOTE: ANYTHING NOT COVERED IN THESE SPECIFICATIONS WILL BE TO THE DISCRETION OF THE TRACK TECH PERSONNEL WITHOUT RECOURSE FROM ANY DRIVER OR OWNER. ALL SPECIFICATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO REVISIONS. ALL ABOVE RULES ALSO PERTAIN TO TRUCKS.
